Game 9 Recap – ECU

The Houston Cougars were crushed by the East Carolina Pirates Saturday afternoon before an announced crowd of 45,455 at Carolina's Dowdy-Ficklen stadium. The 48-28 defeat all but ends the Coogs hopes for a Conference USA championship game birth and placed a huge hit on the opportunity for a bowl game as the Coogs now stand 4-5 with games remaining at home to Tulsa (next week),

followed by a road game at Marshall which precedes the final game ever at Robertson Stadium, versus Tulane on November the 24th to close out the regular season. There are no simple answers as to why the Cougars lost this game. In short, it was a complete and total team effort.
