It seems as though the word is out.
Earlier this season it was reported that Manvel (TX) wide receiver Carlos Thompson is a player worth giving a serious look as it regards to playing at the collegiate level. And since that time, many things have transpired.
"Things are picking up a lot. Schools have been calling every day. UTEP has called, Tulsa and Colorado State too," Thompson said. "These schools want me to play slot receiver and they possibly want me to play some defense too."
And no doubt the 5-foot-10, 178-pound Thompson has shown that he has the versatility to do a number of things on the football field. In the 42-28 win over Pearland this past Friday, Thompson had nine catches for 214 yards and two touchdowns.
The night was good for Thompson, but he didn't have much time to savor it knowing that he had plans the next morning for a road trip.
"I'm going to Louisiana Tech for a visit and watching the homecoming game against UT-San Antonio. It's just for a visit and not my official," Thompson said after the Friday night game. "I think I will take that (official) later on this year. I'm actually planning to go up to Louisiana-Lafayette too to watch a game."
