After spending time in Memphis for the Conference USA Basketball Tournament, InsideKnights.com was able to get a great look at all 12 C-USA teams and we have a few thoughts on how next year may play out for the Knights. Now that the Conference USA regular season is officially over, it’s time for us to announce our all-C-USA teams. To no one’s surprise, the Most Outstanding Player Award goes to UCF’s dynamic shooting guard, Jermaine Taylor, who led the conference in scoring with a 26.6 ppg. average, setting a new C-USA record.   Full Story

Wednesday was another busy night of hoops in C-USA, as 10 of the 12 teams were in action. Memphis and Marshall continue to streak, as does UCF in the other direction, and SMU got a rare win on Senior night.    Full Story

It was a busy weekend in the world of C-USA hoops, and unlike the weekday games, there were no real surprises. Memphis continues to roll, UAB bounces back from their mid-week date with Memphis, UCF continues to slump, and Tulsa, Houston, and Tulane take care of business.   Full Story

The Memphis Tigers continue to flex their muscles, as they stay perfect in conference and are the hottest team in the nation with 19 consecutive wins. Rice and Marshall both recorded their first conference road victories of the season, as Rice overcame a record-setting performance by the great Jermaine Taylor. Houston and SMU were game opponents, but couldn’t seal the deal on the road.    Full Story

All 12 teams were in action Saturday which made for some exciting C-USA hoops action. Memphis was challenged, but survived, and UAB was especially impressive at home.   Full Story

Despite a game-high 35 points from senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.), the UCF men’s basketball team was not able to top Houston Saturday as the Cougars held on for a 77-72 Conference USA win at Hofheinz Pavilion. The 30-point performance was third-straight for Taylor.    Full Story

Eight of the twelve Conference USA teams were in action Wednesday night, headlined by the mismatch of the year between first-place Memphis and last-place SMU.    Full Story

HUNTINGTON - Marshall played like the team that had won four in a row, which Houston had done to move into second in Conference USA men's basketball's standings. The Herd forced the Cougars into 11 turnovers, matched them with 30 rebounds and shot nearly 59 percent from the floor. The Thundering Herd took down a team MU had never beat, 88-83, with just eight players dressed against UH Wednesday.   Full Story

Another week has gone by in the C-USA and what else is new, Memphis is undefeated. John Calipari’s Tigers are playing stifling defense and some close early season contests have turned into blowouts. Memphis has now won 52 straight C-USA games, and there’s no end to their dominance in sight.   Full Story

Senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) totaled 26 points, but it was not enough as the UCF men’s basketball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end as Houston posted a 97-69 win at the UCF Arena Wednesday. The Conference USA contest was played in front of 5,868 fans.    Full Story

Coach Rick Stansbury didn’t enjoy how the 2008 portion of his schedule ended. But if the first outing of the New Year is any indicator, his Bulldogs can make some much better things happen in 2009. “I thought that was probably the most complete two halves offensively and defensively we’ve put together,” Stansbury said after a 82-65 rout of Houston. “I thought our kids came to win.”   Full Story

Setting a 2008 Division I scoring record, Robert 'Fluff' McKiver joined the elite ranks of high scoring NCAA players that include Elvin Hayes, Larry Bird and Bob Florence. McKiver pulled out all the stops against Southern Mississippi's Golden Eagles with a 52 game point high, surpassing fellow Cougar Otis Birdsong's 1977 Hofheinz Pavilion scoring record of 43 points.   Full Story

Marshall had a long trip after an emotional loss to West Virginia Wednesday when they faced one of Conference USA's undefeated teams in the Houston Cougars. The Herd nailed its first three threes, but the UH knocked down 10-of-20 from behind the arc in the first half and 14 treys in the game to win 71-58 over Marshall. The Herd falls to 10-8, 2-3 in C-USA while Houston is 15-3, 4-0 in league play.   Full Story

It was a happy homecoming for the Houston players on the Wildcats. Thanks to a return of Jerryd Bayless the Cats beat Houston 85-71 to snap a two-game losing streak.   Full Story
